Heliodor

Our Brazilian Heliodor is from the mine “Padrea Paraiso” whcih means father’s or God’s paradise. This mining area consists of a series of independent miners’ digs in the state of Minas Gerais about to hours north of Teofilo Otoni which is a gem center of Brazil.

Heliodor is a gem mineral in the beryl family that is yellow, greenish yellow, or golden yellow in color. Emeralds (green), Aquamarine (blue-blue green), and Morganite (pink) are other gem minerals that are also members of the beryl family and all are 7.5 – 8 on the Mohs hardness scale.
